Nipponzan Myōhōji (日本山妙法寺大僧伽) is a new order in modern Japanese Buddhism, which emerged in 1917 in the lineage of the Nichiren School (日蓮宗). Its founder is Fujii Nichidatsu 藤井日達 (1885–1985). The main sacred text of the order is the Lotus Sutra (Skt. Saddharma-puṇḍarīka-sūtra, Jap. Myōhō-renge-kyō 妙法蓮華経). The main mission of the order today is an unarmed struggle for peace in the world for the sake of enlightenment and salvation of all living beings from the burning ocean of suffering – samsara.

Terasawa Junsei 寺沢潤世 (born in 1950) is a Buddhist monk of the Nipponzan Myōhōji order, a consultant of the International Peace Bureau in Geneva (Switzerland). He was born in Hakui-city, Ishikawa Prefecture (Japan). For many years, carrying with him the teachings of the Lotus Sutra and the sacred śarīra of the Buddha, he travels with a mission of peace around the countries of Eurasia and in particular the hot spots of the countries of the former CIS.
    He and his disciples are easily recognized by the sound of the drum and the chanting of the sacred mantra of the Lotus Sutra: "Namu-Myō-Hō-Ren-Ge-Kyō 南無 妙 法 蓮 華 経" (Jap.) – cornerstone practice in the Nichiren tradition.
